Campout Time :: Featured Party

My bestie from across the street is a party planner extraordinaire!
So when she asked me to create a few things for her next party, I was thrilled!

The invitations turned out so great-from the wording to the mix of rustic & modern graphics.
I just love it! And the stickers just complete the table.

Bike Party

We just celebrated my son's third birthday. I think it might rate up at the top of my list of  favorite party theme we have done so far. It was the biggest hit with all the kids!!! Success!

I kept the food pretty simple. I had a make-your-own trail mix station, fruit & fruit dip and the cake.
I filled jars with all sorts of snacky things & provided take out boxes for everyone to make their own trail mix. The little favor stickers & labels on the jars make it look so pulled together!

On the invitation I put for everyone to bring their bike or riding toy.
There was a parking lot if they needed to park for a while.

When they arrived I directed them to the decoration station. There they could attach their license plate, add streamers, balloons, spoke beads, handle bar streamers however they wanted. Obviously the girls got the biggest kick out of this spot, where the boys were just ready to RIDE!

I followed this tutorial to make a bike car wash, and had buckets, sponges, spray bottles & rags if they needed to give their ride a hand wash. ;)

We put out cones & balloons to mark off the race track & we just let the kids ride as the wished. I knew at some point we might need to do a few organized rides or courses, but they were completely entertained the whole time just doing their own thing!

Boy Birthday Themes

I'm falling more & more in love with little boy birthday parties!
Now that I'm planning my son's THIRD birthday, I've been thinking about boy party themes a lot lately.

Take a look at a few packs I have that could be perfect for that little man in your life!
I have linked to a post on my blog for most of the parties, as well as my Pinterest board that will give you all kinds of fun inspiration! Feel free to go check out & follow my other Pinterest party boards here. Or you can click the Pinterest button under "follow me" to the right.

It seems like my stash of party packs is a little girl heavy-so I'm trying to beef up the boy side a bit.
I always love to hear what you think!
Any little boy party themes you've been dreaming of?

Party Inspiration

Whenever I am planning a party, I always have to have the one piece of inspiration to kick-start my planning. It can come from almost anywhere, but it always helps to get the wheels turning!

I love doing custom birthday order...so if you ever find something that sparks an idea send me a picture of it & I would love to help you turn it into the perfect party!

Here's a few samples of how something small turned into the perfect party theme!

For Emma's recent Cupcake Party...

 I found these great party goods at Michaels on the 90% off aisle! What a steal! The whole party just took off with the inspiration of these colors & patterns.

The polka dot & stripe vinal table cloths, the polka dot paper bowls & a matching paper lantern were with the summer clearance. I then designed all the printed goods to match, which made it all come together & look so cohesive at a fraction of the cost!

For Hudson's Little Deer Party...

I found the deer {on the left} for 90% at Hobby Lobby after Christmas, it had an antler that was missing, so my sweet dad replaced them with some real antlers he had laying around in his workshop. I had the adorable ceramic blue deer from my sweet grandmother.
I also found the two cardboard deer cutouts {on the right} for 50% after Christmas as well.
Yes...I started this party theme really early...which is easier to do for a 1st birthday party! Which the fun finds, it all just took off from there!

For Emma's 3rd Cowgirl Party...

This adorable denim skirt & that fabulous cowgirl silhouette clip art was all it took!

I just found a super cute bicycle t-shirt at Gap for my little guy & it is helping to jump start the planning for his 3rd birthday coming up!
For me all it takes is one little inspiration to get the ball rolling.

Traditions :: Birthday Book

As our family has grown, adopting new & meaningful traditions has been something really special to me.
And I think this one takes the #1 spot on my list of favorites.
So I just had to share with all of you!

The Birthday Book
Each year for the kids birthday, I buy a book that goes along with the theme of their party.
 It many times becomes one of their birthday presents. Um, readers are leaders.
And many of these have become among our favorite books to read!
In other words, sometimes we read them over & over & over. And over.

If you don't already have a book in mind, it's pretty simple to just google, search on pinterest, or amazon.
"cupcake book" "artist picture book" "tractor kids books"
One year I even got a vintage book off etsy!

 Birds by Kevin Henkes

Grandpa's Tractor by Michael Garland

 Curious George Book :: Vintage Book from Etsy
Bridget's Beret by Tom Lichtenheld

At the party I always have the book right by the door with a sign, asking all the guests to sign their name, and even write a message if they want.
I attach the invitation on the inside front cover & have a pen ready for signing.
It is such a fun keepsake & so fun to reminisce about the party each time we read it!

I just love this lasting memory & keepsake!

$15 for the whole party pack PDF
{invitation, water bottle labels, tent cards, 1 favor tag, banner}

When Emma turned five, our life was a little hectic at the time!
{Hence the reason I am just realizing I never posted about her party! Oops!}
We moved into our new house 3 days before her birthday.
So I threw together a tiny party. To have the day we moved in.
What!? #amicrazy

Who cares if I am, this sweet face & priceless reaction made it ALL worth it!

This is just about the most I could do on moving day.
I had everything made & ready to just hang or put on the table before hand. We were living in a very tiny apartment for two months prior, so I had a little time on my hands!
I had tons of fun pinterest ideas swirling around my head that you can see here

 I had previously made a mermaid party pack, and changed the colors a bit.
Here's a look at the favor tag & water bottle label for the other party.
